| 8:00 am-10:00 am | Biomass Coordinating Council (BCC) Committee Meeting The Biomass Coordinating Council's Phase II Member Day meeting functioned as a critical planning meeting for the BCC moving forward. The BCC has created Vice Councils representing the various stakeholders and industry leaders in the biomass world. This meeting introduced our newly created or to be created Vice Councils and engaged our attending BC members in a discussion as to how the Vice Council Program and structure should move forward while effectively and efficiently representing the activities of the BCC and the needs of its members.
About 80% of the world's renewable energy comes from biomass. Biomass represents about 50% in the United States. We must recognize that all bio industries are mutually dependent on biomass in some form and that almost all biomass is dependent on optimized land use, vitalized soil and adequate water. We will only recognize full success if all bio industries work together in some mutually benefiting manner. That is the purpose of the BCC Vice Councils. |

| 8:30 am-10:00 am | Climate Change Committee/ Climate Legislation and Road to Copenhagen Meeting ACORE's Climate Change Committee focuses on how climate policy will impact renewable energy development and the role of renewable energy in mitigating climate change. On Member Day, the Committee met to discuss the state of pending climate legislation as well as the United Nations Climate Change Conference Copenhagen 2009 (COP 15) and the role renewable energy is likely to play in COP15. Electrical Services (Utility) Committee Meeting ACORE's Electric Services Committee is chartered around five key activities: wholesale renewable electric generation, transmission, distributed generation, smart grid, and education on renewable energy concepts and topics of interest to members. During Member Day, committee members discussed the key issues affecting renewable energy in the electric services sector. Financial Services Committee Meeting ACORE's Renewable Energy Finance Committee focused on how to finance the scale up of renewable energy. On Member Day the Committee discussed the mission, objectives and specific projects of the Committee. International Committee/US-China Program Meeting The International Committee was founded to promote a better understanding of the renewable energy industry, markets and public policy around the world. During Member Day, committee members had the opportunity to build relationships and discuss international renewable energy issues with global-minded professionals. The first half of the meeting focused on the activities of ACORE's US-China Program, US-European Collaboration and US-Latin America Initiatives. Renewable Energy, Green Building & Energy Efficiency Committee (REGBEE) Achieving sustainability has fast become a major priority for governments, schools and businesses concerned about rising demand for energy, unstable fuel prices, uncertain energy security and the threat of global climate change. However, those organizations that have adopted new approaches are accelerating their progress towards sustainability. In many cases, on-site renewable energy facilities can be financed through cost savings from energy efficiency measures. The REGBEE Committee looks to educate and communicate RE/GB/EE opportunities and best practices with thought leaders in the industry as well as provide networks and knowledge of financial funding options to ensure successful project acceptance. At this year's ACORE Member Day, REGBEE reviewed its newly launched first White Paper, entitled "Leveraging Stimulus Funds: Options for Financing Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Projects" in the first part of its meeting, |
