John Graham is President of BP Wind Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of BP, one of the world’s major energy companies.  BP Wind Energy is a leading wind developer in the U.S. with a portfolio that includes the opportunity to develop approximately 100 projects.  BP Wind Energy has over 1,000 MW in commercial operation and more than 1,000 MW in an advanced stage of development. BP Wind Energy is headquartered in Houston, Texas and has offices in Charlottesville, Virginia and Oakland, California.

Prior to John’s appointment as Wind Energy President, he joined BP’s low-carbon Alternative Energy business as Investment Manager.  John was responsible for pioneering new ways of working with Business Unit executives to source and assess new investment opportunities beyond their existing capacity and plans. Business areas included Solar PV manufacturing and sales, and Biofuels strategy creation and operational planning.

John joined BP in 2000 and held a number of executive roles in Digital Business before being appointed as Chief Operating Officer of BP’s Integrated Supply and Trading business in 2003. As Chief Operating Officer, John led a team of 600 people in London and Europe trading crude and fuel products.  In 2007 he was appointed as the Global Head of Strategy, Planning and Performance for BP’s Integrated Supply and Trading business.

In 1985 John joined the graduate programme of Mobil Oil. Co. Ltd. and went on to lead Mobil Lube’s European Blending Operations facility.  In 1998 he moved to Singapore as Mobil’s Sourcing Director responsible for executing strategic sourcing agreements and supply chain management, in service of Mobil's exploration activity in Indonesia, Fuels and Lubes Marketing across Asia Pacific.

John holds a BSc in Industrial Technology and Management from Bradford University, United Kingdom and has attended executive leadership programmes with the Dialogos group, Massachusetts and at the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. John is married and has two teenage sons.
